Szeliga’s Senate Race Ad Violates Federal FEC, FCC Disclosure Rules

Annapolis, Md. — Yesterday the Maryland Democratic Party sent a letter to all television stations running Delegate Kathy Szeliga’s new ad, urging them to cease airing the ad because it violates Federal Communications Commission sponsorship identification and disclosure requirements and asking them to deny Szeliga and her campaign access to the lowest unit charge. The Party also called on the Federal Election Commission to initiate an immediate investigation of Szeliga’s violations of the Commission’s disclaimer and disclosure requirements.
“It’s no wonder Delegate Szeliga has endorsed Donald Trump — she is running the same kind of negative campaign. The only difference is that her dishonest attack ad violates basic disclosure laws,” said Executive Director Chuck Conner.
