Annapolis, MDÂ â Â After shutting down the government once already this year, yesterday Donald Trump said that he would âlove to see a shutdownâ of the federal government, which would cost Marylandâs economy $5 million per day.Â
âA government shutdown costs Marylandâs economy $5 million per day but Donald Trump doesnât care,â said Maryland Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Matthews. âI wish Governor Hogan had the political courage to stand up for Maryland, but he is afraid to utter Trumpâs name. Democrats are working to keep the government open and ensure that Trump keeps his promise to protect DREAMers.  We need a Governor who is not walking on eggshells and will protect Marylanders from Trump and the GOP who are trying to dismantle the programs that Democrats have fought for.â
