Annapolis, MD — Today at 3:30pm, Montgomery County student and gun violence prevention activist Daniel Gelillo will join Maryland Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Matthews on the party’s new Facebook Live show, “MD Dems Live”. Like many young people, Gelillo became a leader in the fight against gun violence in the wake of the tragic shooting in Parkland, Florida—leading protests and demonstrations at Montgomery County high schools in the months since the shooting.
“Daniel is on the frontlines of the fight to prevent gun violence, and his courageous leadership has been an inspiration to Marylanders—young people and adults alike,” said Maryland Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Matthews. “Daniel and thousands of young people nationwide have shifted the politics on guns, and politicians who have been bought and paid for by the NRA are running scared. I look forward to speaking with Daniel about his activism and the next steps in the gun violence prevention movement.”
Gelillo follows Senator Barbara Mikulski, who was the show’s first guest. Click here to watch Mikulski’s interview; a transcript is available upon request.
