Hogan Is Running from Immigration Record

Apr 30, 2018

Annapolis, MD — Larry Hogan knows that the 2018 election cycle is shaping up to be hostile to Republicans and their disastrous policies, so the Governor is trying to run away from his conservative record.  In response to a WBAL questionnaire on immigration, Hogan desperately tried to paint himself as an ally to immigrant communities, but Marylanders know better.  The Maryland Democratic Party has annotated Hogan’s response to WBAL to set the record straight so Marylanders know who the real Hogan is.

“Governor Hogan wants voters to forget that he was silent on Trump’s Muslim ban and opposed efforts to resettle Syrian refugees in Maryland—but voters know that Hogan is no ally to Maryland’s immigrant families,” said Maryland Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Matthews. “His current campaign materials purports to be an ally of immigrants, but the real record shows Larry Hogan does not have the will or the guts to stand with immigrant communities that have been the victims of attacks from Donald Trump and the Republican Party.”
