Maryland – Saturday, November 7th, the Maryland Democratic Party released the following statement after the AP called the presidential race for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and the Biden for President Campaign declared victory:
“This is a historic day for our country. The people of America have spoken — they have chosen Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to restore the soul of our nation and build back better. This victory, along with the historic record turnout we saw across the nation is a repudiation of the divisiveness, lies, and hate of the Trump administration. The decisive win gives President-elect Biden a clear mandate to build our country back, fight the COVID-19 pandemic, and address the pressing issues facing Marylanders and Americans. As a country, we must rise to this opportunity, casting aside our differences, and working to build our country back together. Under this new leadership we can no longer be ‘Red states’ or ‘Blue states,’ but the United States.”
“We celebrate the election of our first African American, AAPI, woman Vice-President, and recognize all those who have made this historic victory possible. None of this could have been possible without our incredible volunteers and donors, along with our extraordinary state, local, and federal officials.
