Annapolis, Md. – As former FBI director James Comey is set to testify today on Trump’s Russia controversy, Governor Larry Hogan should hold the line on Russian involvement in Maryland.
The Washington Post reported last week that the Trump administration was “moving toward handing back to Russia two diplomatic compounds, near New York City and on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, that its officials were ejected from in late December as punishment for Moscow’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.”
U.S. officials have long believed that the Maryland location was used for “intelligence purposes.”
“Will Governor Hogan stand idly by as President Trump invites Russian spies back into Maryland?” said Maryland Democratic Party spokesperson Bryan Lesswing. “Hogan needs to tell Trump that we don’t want the Russians using Maryland to spy on America.”
Perhaps Governor Hogan’s silence is related to his recent vacation down at Trump’s swanky golf resort in Miami.
