Time for Governor Hogan to Weigh in On Trumpcare

May 04, 2017

Annapolis, Md. –  When asked if he had any concerns about Trumpcare in March, Governor Larry Hogan said, “I’m not going to get into the details.”

With the passage of Trumpcare today in the U.S. House, Hogan’s answer is no longer sufficient.

“Now that Trumpcare is one step closer to becoming law, it is time for Governor Hogan to take a stand on his party’s health care repeal,” said Maryland Democratic Party spokesperson Bryan Lesswing. “Ducking and dodging Trump might be Hogan’s political strategy, but it’s unconscionable not to stand up for the hundreds of thousands of Marylanders whose health care and benefits are on the line.”

Other Republican governors are speaking out. Earlier today, GOP Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said that Trumpcare would lead to “a massive loss of critical funds” for his own state.

These are just a few specifics on Trumpcare that Marylanders deserve an answer from Governor Hogan.
