Annapolis, Md. – Late yesterday, GOP Maryland Congressman Andy Harris joined the rest of the state’s delegation in opposition to the House Republican ACA repeal bill.
According to the Baltimore Sun, “Harris said in a statement that the measure ‘simply won’t lower premiums as much as the American people need.'”
That leaves Republican Governor Larry Hogan the odd man out.
“Governor Larry Hogan is now the only top leader in Maryland who does not oppose Trumpcare,” said Maryland Democratic Party spokesperson Bryan Lesswing. “The writing’s already been on the wall for a while, but now it’s abundantly clear that Governor Larry Hogan has no problem with his Republican friends in Washington increasing premiums on hardworking families and taking away health care from hundreds of thousands of Marylanders.”
As recent as earlier this week, when members of the Maryland congressional delegation called on Hogan in Annapolis to join them in opposing the Republican health care plan, Hogan refused and said they were “grandstanding.”
