VAN HOLLEN, DEMOCRATS TO RALLY
ON NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION TO SAVE HEALTH CARE
Democrats plan to keep the pressure on members of Congress to protect Americans whose health care is at risk. Unites States Senator Chris Van Hollen, joined by Representatives Steny Hoyer, Anthony Brown, John Sarbanes, Jamie Raskin, John Delaney, County Executives Rushern Baker and Ike Leggett, local elected officials and community activists will hold a rally Sunday, January 15th at 2 p.m. in Bowie.
This event is handicap accessible and open to the media.
If Republicans repeal the Affordable Care Act without replacing the legislation, the effects will be devastating for hardworking Marylanders and their families:

More than 20 million Americans have access to health care thanks to the Affordable Care Act

The American Cancer Society issued a report crediting the ACA with driving down the rates of cancer deaths – especially in communities of color where the uninsured rate has been slashed in half

The Affordable Care Act gave 47 million women access to preventative health services, including well-woman exams and cancer screenings

As many as 30 million Americans could lose coverage if the Affordable Care Act is repealed, including Americans who rely on Medicare and Medicaid for access to health care

Repeal would lead to higher Medicare premiums, deductibles and prescription costs for our seniors

Hospitals in rural communities would lose millions of dollars in funding and could be forced to close
