Anti-abortion rights extremists continue to see Hogan as key to Republicans retaking control of the Senate
Republican Larry Hogan is holding a fundraiser today alongside former Maryland officials Kathy Afzali and Mike Hough, both of whom tried to ban abortion in Maryland. Hogan, who has promised to caucus with Republicans, has a record opposing abortion rights and his victory would hand Republicans control of the Senate to push forward an extreme, anti-abortion rights agenda.
Afzali and Hough are just the latest anti-abortion rights extremists to support Hogan’s bid to flip control of the Senate to Republicans. Last week, Hogan held a fundraiser in Tennessee – which has one of the most restrictive abortion bans in the country – headlined by anti-abortion rights Senators Marsha Blackburn and Bill Haggerty. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, who signed the state’s extreme abortion ban, was also in attendance to raise money for Hogan.
