Republican Larry Hogan Continues His Silence on Abortion Rights

Apr 12, 2024

Candidate Hogan must be waiting on poll results to figure out what he thinks about abortion

Yesterday, the leader of Larry Hogan’s Republican party spoke about what he and the Republican Party believe about abortion rights (or in this case – the lack of rights). And just moments ago, the Arizona Supreme Court (of which every Justice was appointed by a Republican governor) outlawed nearly all abortions in the state.

The normally chatty Republican candidate has gone quiet on this issue in the 36 hours since his party leader’s statement. Perhaps he is waiting for his beloved poll results to come back to tell him what he should think about abortion rights for Maryland women.

But make no mistake – anything short of the full restoration of Roe v Wade will leave millions of women in a dangerous and potentially life-threatening position and is wildly out of step with Maryland voters.

The Republican Party answers to Trump and Trump has made it clear the health and safety of women across the country is not the concern of the Republican Party. Thankfully, Maryland Democrats are united in restoring Roe v Wade and fighting against Republican bans.

The policy of the Republican Party is run by Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and other extremists who want to ban abortion nationwide. Larry Hogan would be the 51st vote in a Republican Senate.

Luckily, abortion is on the ballot twice this November and Marylanders will have the chance to send a clear message to the Republicans who are trying to take their rights away.
