Victories in Annapolis and Frederick Signal Democratic Strength Heading Into 2026
Annapolis, MD – With the completion of counts in Frederick City and Annapolis, the Maryland Democratic Party is celebrating decisive victories in two of the state’s key cities, as Jared Littmann is elected Mayor of Annapolis and Michael O’Connor wins re-election as Mayor of Frederick.
The results in Annapolis and Frederick confirm what history has shown: big wins in these key cities set the stage for Democratic success at every level in Maryland in 2026.
“These results show that Marylanders continue to choose Democratic leadership that delivers,” said Maryland Democratic Party Chair Steuart Pittman. “While Donald Trump and his allies try to drag the country backward, voters in Annapolis and Frederick once again chose progress, competence, and community over chaos.”
Littmann and O’Connor both ran on records of responsible local leadership. Their wins affirm that Maryland Democrats’ values resonate across every level of government.
