Where’s Larry Hogan When Donald Trump Takes Steps to Deport 20,000 Marylanders?

Jan 08, 2018

Annapolis, MD — President Donald Trump’s decision to end Temporary Protected Status for Salvadoran nationals will impact nearly 20,000 in Maryland—the fourth most of any state.  Today, Maryland Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Matthews is calling on Governor Larry Hogan to oppose this heartless decision, which will rip apart families and harm Maryland’s economy:

“President Trump has now cast a cloud of fear and uncertainty over the 20,000 hard-working Salvadorans who call Maryland home and contribute to our state’s economy and cultural diversity.  This callous decision will tear apart families and communities in our state, and will result in a talent drain for many employers.  Governor Hogan must use the bully pulpit given to him by the people of Maryland to fight for our Salvadoran neighbors and our economy.”
