Republican Larry Hogan Covers Up Anti-Abortion Record & Lies About Threat Republican Majority Poses to  Abortion Rights

During an interview with Sirius XM’s Julie Mason yesterday, Trump-endorsed Republican Larry Hogan falsely stated he supported “access to abortion” as governor and that “a majority of Republicans” support codifying Roe v. Wade into law.

Hogan, who was personally recruited by Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, has a track record opposing abortion rights. In 2022, then-Governor Hogan vetoed measures to expand abortion access and refused to release funding to train abortion providers following the Supreme Court’s leaked decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

In addition, Hogan’s Republican supporters have made it abundantly clear that they are opposed to abortion rights and would pursue a national abortion ban if they take the majority. Anti-choice Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said that “people should feel good” about the Supreme Court overturning Roe, while anti-choice candidate for Senate Republican Leader John Thune, who headlined a fundraiser for Hogan two weeks ago, said the “decision to overturn Roe [was] long overdue.” And anti-choice Governor Brian Kemp, architect of Georgia’s extreme 6 week abortion ban, hosted a fundraiser for Hogan this week – one day after the anniversary of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
