MDP Statement on Moody’s Credit Negative Finding for Baltimore and 21 Maryland Counties

Annapolis, Md. – Maryland Democratic Party executive director Chuck Conner today released the following statement in response to Moody’s credit negative finding for 21 counties and the city of Baltimore:

“Governor Hogan addressed the National Urban League last week and claimed to have a vision for urban revitalization. Today’s credit negative finding from Moody’s, one of the nation’s largest bond agencies, proves once again that Baltimore is not a priority for Hogan’s administration. While Governor Hogan plays politics with funds approved with bipartisan support, Marylanders across the state are faced with uncertainty about critical projects that their communities need. It’s unfortunate that the governor is willing to risk the credit ratings of Maryland counties and Baltimore to score political points.”
