About the Position: The Maryland Democratic Party is seeking a Programs Intern to support the day-to-day functions of the Programs/Party Affairs team during the Fall 2026 internship program. This role will provide hands-on experience in statewide event coordination, community organizing logistics, and Election Day/GOTV support ahead of the 2026 General Election.

The Programs Intern will play a key role in supporting the Party’s programming, event logistics, and community organizing — including Take Back Tour stops and candidate forums — through the final stretch of the 2026 General Election, including GOTV Weekend and Election Day.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Provide on-site event support at Take Back Tour stops and candidate forums across Maryland
● Support logistics and communication between the Annapolis HQ and event sites
● Assist with volunteer coordination and volunteer recruitment
● Support event promotion via tabling, social media and direct voter contact
● Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:
● Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate
● Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to events across Maryland — this role involves more
statewide travel than other Fall intern positions
● Comfortable working some evenings and weekends around event schedules, in addition to the
mandatory Tuesday in-office day
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
● Fluent in an additional language, comfortable working with diverse groups, developed understanding of
cross cultural relations

Employment Type: This is a temporary internship position running from September 21, 2026 through
November 20, 2026. This position is non-exempt and is based in Annapolis, Maryland, with in-person work
mandatory on Tuesdays (weekly all-staff meeting). Remaining days are flexible and event-driven, set in
coordination with Autumn — this role involves more field/travel days than a fixed office schedule. This intern
is required to work GOTV Weekend (Saturday, October 31 through Monday, November 2) and Election Day,
Tuesday, November 3, 2026, regardless of their standard weekly schedule. Prior to the start date, interns must
submit their class schedule to their supervisor, followed by their final exam schedule once available.

Compensation: This position offers an hourly rate of $20/hour, commensurate with experience.
