About the Role
The Maryland Democratic Party is seeking a Content & Communications Fellows to support the Party’s digital communications and voter engagement efforts during a critical phase of the 2026 election cycle. This fellowship provides hands-on experience in political communications, digital strategy, and campaign operations for students and emerging professionals interested in public service and Democratic politics.
Fellows will support real-time communications projects, assist with digital content creation, and help execute messaging and engagement strategies across the state. Participants will gain exposure to statewide political operations while contributing directly to events, initiatives, and campaign-related programming throughout the summer.
Responsibilities
● Assist with social media content creation and digital communications efforts
● Support event coverage and content production for summer events, rallies, fundraisers, and the Party Gala
● Assist with voter registration and public engagement initiatives
● Support communications efforts related to the Party’s Red to Blue program and coordinated campaign activities
● Assist with photography, video content, and on-site communications support during events
● Support production and promotion of the Party podcast, Burn the Talking Points
● Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for content and audience engagement strategies
What We’re Looking For
● Strong writing and communication skills
● Interest in political communications, campaigns, or public service
● Familiarity with social media platforms and digital trends
● Basic experience with content creation, including graphics, photography, or video
● Experience using Canva or similar design platforms
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
● Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
●Current high school, or undergraduate students
●Applicants with prior involvement in civic engagement, student leadership, or political organizations
● Applicants interested in communications, media, or marketing in the political field.
