
Coordinated Campaign Regional Organizing Director Job Description
The Maryland Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign is hiring Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) for the 2026 general election cycle. Regional Organizing Directors are responsible for executing the field plan and training and managing field organizers within their assigned region across multiple offices. Regional Organizing Directors will report directly to the Organizing Director. Travel will be necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise field organizers;
- Ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met;
- Aim to improve the quality of the program in your region based on data, metrics, and feedback;
- Ensure the required reporting metrics are accurate and updated in a timely manner;
- Monitor regional metrics (e.g., flake rate, volunteer retention rate, etc.);
- Serve as the point of contact for the campaign and the assigned region;
- Interface with campaign as needed in support of field organizers;
- Represent the Maryland Democratic Party at various community events and meetings;
- Other duties as assigned;
Please note – there are two different types of Regional Organizing Directors for the 2026 campaign. During the interview, you will have an opportunity to express a preference for your desired role. We will have traditional Regional Organizing Directors and Impact Organizing Directors.
The traditional RODs will focus on the measurable direct voter contact operation. The Impact OD will focus on non-traditional voter engagement, event engagement, and digital engagement such as texting (although not specifically social media).
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to activists, elected officials, volunteers, and voters from a wide range of backgrounds;
- Must have at least one cycle of competitive field experience;
- Strong knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN and spreadsheets;
- Must be able to work independently and in team settings;
- Must be able to work long and irregular hours as needed including weekends;
- Creative thinking and a “can-do” attitude for problem-solving;
- Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable access to a car, and a laptop
- Ability to lift/carry boxes of literature and campaign materials, including up and down stairs
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: This position is non-exempt, at a rate of $5,500-$6,000 per month with benefits, commensurate with experience. This position is at-will employment.
Start Date: This position’s start date is July 15, 2026. This position is located throughout Maryland pending assigned region (goal will be to provide assignments based on candidates connections to the regional community). Initial in-person trainings will be based in Annapolis, MD.
