Republican Larry Hogan’s Allies Block Bipartisan Tax Bill

Aug 01, 2024

Hogan’s campaign bankrolled by Republican Senators who blocked tax relief for working families, small businesses

Republican Larry Hogan would give the Senate majority to the same Republicans who just blocked bipartisan tax legislation to extend the child tax credit and support small businesses. Hogan, a self-described “lifelong Republican” who vows to caucus with Republicans, is being bankrolled by Republican senators who voted against relief for working families and small businesses, including Steve Daines, Tom Cotton, John Cornyn and John Thune.

From Maryland Democratic Party Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly: “Republican Larry Hogan wants to empower the same Republican senators who just blocked bipartisan legislation to provide relief to working families and small businesses. Marylanders aren’t going to let Hogan hand the 51st Senate seat over to a party that would rather point fingers during an election year than pass bipartisan legislation designed to help families.”
