Maryland Democrats Call on Larry Hogan, Steve Hershey, Ed Hale, and John Myrick to Denounce Donald Trump Following Bombshell Epstein Emails
ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Maryland Democratic Party is calling on Republican leaders Larry Hogan, Steve Hershey, Ed Hale, and John Myrick to publicly denounce Donald Trump following new bombshell emails about Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
According to reporting from The New York Times, newly released emails from Epstein’s estate reference interactions suggesting Trump was aware of Epstein’s behavior and sought to manage potential fallout from their association.
“Marylanders deserve leaders who will stand up to what we’re seeing in Washington–it’s clear Larry Hogan, Steve Hershey, Ed Hale, and John Myrick aren’t willing to do that,” said Karen Darkes, Executive Director of the Maryland Democratic Party. “This is not about partisanship, it’s about character. Trump’s continued connections to Epstein is deeply troubling, and silence from Republican leaders sends the wrong message.”
The Party called on Hogan, Hershey, Hale, and Myrick to publicly denounce Donald Trump and his association with Jeffrey Epstein and make clear that such conduct has no place in Maryland or American public life.
“These are serious allegations involving exploitation and abuse,” Karen Darkes added. “Every elected official has a duty to say plainly that this behavior is unacceptable and those that perpetrated these horrible acts must be held accountable, no matter who they are or what their political party. Epstein’s victims deserve justice.”
