ICYMI: Hogan Fundraises with Republican Mega Donors, “Current and Former High-Profile Republican Politicians” [Maryland Matters]

National Republicans are continuing to rally behind Republican Larry Hogan in their pursuit for control of the U.S. Senate, new reporting from Maryland Matters shows.

Hogan is slated to hold fundraisers featuring Republican mega-donors and “current and former high-profile Republican politicians,” including former Republican House Leaders Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor, Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn, former Republican Senators Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker, and former chair of the Republican National Committee Ed Gillespie.

Ryan and others are just the latest anti-abortion rights Republicans to rally behind Hogan because he could be the 51st seat Republicans need to retake control of the U.S. Senate. Hogan – who was personally recruited by Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and promises to caucus with Republicans – recently held fundraisers with Republican Leadership candidate John Thune and Georgia Governor Brian Kemp.

“Republican Larry Hogan has made it crystal clear that he will caucus with Republicans, potentially delivering them the 51st seat they need to win control of the Senate and push forward an extreme agenda, including banning abortion nationwide. That’s why national Republicans are rallying behind Hogan – and why Marylanders will reject him in November,” said Maryland Democratic Party spokesperson Lindsay Reilly.
