Governor Moore Continues To Double Down On Lowering Energy Costs For Marylanders
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Today, Governor Wes Moore took another major step to lower energy costs for Maryland families by signing an Executive Order to modernize Maryland’s energy grid and utilize state land for potential new energy projects.
“Governor Wes Moore continues to show Maryland he is committed to lowering costs for middle class families when they need it most” said Steuart Pittman, Chair of the Maryland Democratic Party. “Democrats in Maryland continue to deliver rebates and initiatives that have brought direct relief to people across the state. Together, we will continue to work to create a system that works for the people who use it, not just the companies that run it.”
Earlier this year, Governor Moore and Maryland Democrats delivered $200 million in direct electricity bill rebates for Maryland ratepayers. This along with a $130 million investment in clean energy and modernization programs in 2025 alone, represents a full-steam-ahead strategy to slash energy costs for families by increasing energy supply, enhancing our power grid, and giving direct financial relief for the families across the state.
