Anti-Choice Republicans Continue to Rally Behind Larry Hogan in Push for GOP Senate Majority

Brian Kemp, architect of Georgia’s 6-week abortion ban: “[I’m] hoping [Hogan] can… get control of the Senate back”

Anti-abortion rights Republicans who support a nationwide abortion ban are continuing to rally behind Republican Larry Hogan, who’s promised to caucus with Republicans, because he’s key to securing a Republican Senate majority and passing a nationwide abortion ban.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, architect of Georgia’s extreme 6-week abortion ban, held a fundraiser for Hogan last week and told CNN on Friday that he “hop[es Hogan] can win a Senate seat and get control of the Senate back.” That sentiment was echoed by anti-choice South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds, who told Fox News over the weekend that he would “look forward to” and “love to have” Hogan in the Senate since he would give Republicans majority control. And former Secretary Ben Carson, who recently called for a nationwide abortion ban, told NewsNation he “hope[s] [Hogan] will be successful.”

See for yourself.

Anti-choice Governor Brian Kemp, architect of Georgia’s extreme 6-week abortion ban: “I had a fundraiser this week for former Governor Larry Hogan from Maryland, hoping he can win a Senate seat and get control of the Senate back. We’re helping, you know, Speaker Johnson hold the House and we want to control the White House.”

Anti-choice Senator Mike Rounds: “Don’t count out Larry Hogan in Maryland… I would look forward to that… we’d love to have [him] in the Senate with us.”

Anti-choice former Secretary Ben Carson: “I know Larry well… I hope he’s successful.”
