Donald Trump Declares War on Early Education by Gutting Head Start in Latest Act of Betrayal of Maryland Children and Families
Last week, Donald Trump announced yet another plan to betray Maryland families and children by waging war on early childhood education by gutting the popular Head Start program, which has helped 5,339 families in the state ensure their children have the opportunities to thrive in school.
At a time when working Maryland can barely afford to stay afloat, Trump is forcing families to shell out even more of their hard-earned dollars to support their kids. Now, Maryland families will have to choose between quality childcare and paying the bills — all while Trump does nothing to deliver for working families.
A reminder: This is just the latest in Republicans’ cruel, relentless war against working families. Since Trump retook office, the GOP’s disastrous economic agenda has forced Maryland families to pay $3000+ in extra costs. Meanwhile, their deadly and costly war with Iran has already drained more than $+$926,905,898 dollars from Marylanders wallets as gas prices soar.

Head Start is a lifeline for working families to ensure their kids are on the path to success — and Trump wants to rip that away. Yet again, Trump is leaving Maryland in the dust while he wages an unpopular and unnecessary war with Iran and looks out for his billionaire buddies. Democrats understand our children deserve better, and that’s why we’ll keep fighting to protect Head Start while working to make childcare and early education more affordable for every Maryland family.”
