Description & Details
The April McClain Delaney for Congress campaign is seeking a full-time Organizing
Director for the 2024 General election. The Organizing Director is responsible for
developing and executing a comprehensive organizing plan including all volunteer, voter
contact, and visibility activities necessary for AMD for Congress to win this highly
competitive seat. The Organizing Director will manage multiple staffers, be responsible
for the activities of multiple offices, and will report directly to the Campaign Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Lead the hiring, management and training of a talented and diverse organizing
staff;
● Create and refine staff and volunteer training materials;
● Create aggressive, but achievable, goals and coach organizers to success;
● Develop and track appropriate metrics and manage systems of accountability for
staff and volunteers;
● Develop voter contact universes and analyze data to track progress;
● Leverage digital voter contact and tools and integrate them into the organizing
plan;
● Work collaboratively across departments to ensure our organizing strategy is
supporting and being supported by other departments;
● Develop, maintain, and execute an organizing budget.
Our ideal candidate for the position has the following qualifications and attributes:
● 2 or more cycles of campaign experience;

● At least one cycle of building and leading a dynamic team or department;
● Hiring, training, and managing junior staff;
● Developing and executing a department budget;
● A strong command of Votebuilder and Mobilize, as well as P2P texting and dialer
tools, other organizing tools a plus;
● Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with
meticulous attention to detail and strong political instincts;
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating a flexible,
unflappable demeanor and strong listening skills;
● Required to be based in the DC/Maryland area, willing to travel to an office and be
in-person regularly, and flexible to work irregular hours, including nights and
weekends;
● Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation;
● Bilingual in English/Spanish and ties to Maryland politics are plusses but not
required.
