County Executive Organizing Director

Organizing Director

Vanessa Atterbeary for County Executive is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dynamic leader to
serve as organizing director. Candidates for the position should have multiple cycles of volunteer
organizing experience. This individual must be detail-oriented, be able to work in a collaborative
environment, and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
● Lead the management and training of a talented and diverse organizing staff
● Create and refine staff and volunteer training materials
● Create aggressive, but achievable, goals and coach organizers to success
● Develop and track appropriate metrics and manage systems of accountability for staff and
volunteers
● Develop voter contact universes and analyze data to track progress
● Leverage digital voter contact and tools and integrate them into the organizing plan
● Work collaboratively across departments to ensure our organizing strategy is supporting and
being supported by other departments
● Be responsible for the implementation of the campaign field plan

Experience
● 2 or more cycles of campaign experience
● At least one cycle of managing a successful organizing team
● Hiring, training, and managing junior staff
● Familiarity with Howard County, Maryland, politics is a plus
● A strong command of NGP, Votebuilder and phonebanking software, as well as other
organizing tools a plus
