Coordinated Campaign Training and GOTV Director

The Maryland Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign is seeking an experienced Training and GOTV Director for the 2026 general election cycle. The Training and GOTV Director is responsible for the complete staff training program and the GOTV plan. The  Training and GOTV Director is a senior level role that will report directly to the Organizing Director. Candidates should possess several cycles of campaign experience. Candidates will need to locate to Maryland and have access to an automobile to travel around the state when necessary. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive onboarding and training program for all field staff, including role-specific training for organizers, Regional Field Directors, and other roles.
  • Develop and maintain all training materials and supporting documents. 
  • Build the campaign’s GOTV plan in coordination with the Organizing Director and Coordinated Campaign Director, including staging location strategy, volunteer surge plans, and Election Day operations.
  • Track and evaluate, in partnership with the Organizing Director, staff performance and training outcomes, flagging gaps and providing additional coaching where needed.
  • Coordinate with the data team to ensure GOTV targeting and universe management aligns with field program capacity.
  • Develop and manage the volunteer training pipeline in coordination with field organizers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex information clearly to staff at all levels.
  • Experience with GOTV operations including staging locations, volunteer management, and Election Day logistics.
  • Several cycles of significant campaign and/or field experience (Previously held training roles are a bonus);
  • Experience with coaching in campaigns and scaling programs;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to activists, elected officials, volunteers, and voters from a wide range of backgrounds;
  • Strong proficiency with Votebuilder/VAN, and other Democratic technologies;
  • Must be able to work independently and in team settings;
  • Must be able to work long and irregular hours as needed including weekends;
  • Creative thinking and a “can-do” attitude for problem-solving;
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, reliable access to a car, and a laptop
  • Ability to lift/carry campaign materials

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: This position is non-exempt, at a rate of $7,000-$8,000 per month with benefits, commensurate with experience. This position is at-will employment. 

Start Date: This position’s start date is July 1, 2026. This position is based in Annapolis, MD during in-person work days.
