HANOVER, MD – The Maryland Democratic Party is proud to announce that President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will deliver the keynote address at the 2026 Fight Back & Win Gala on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Maryland Live! in Hanover, Maryland.

“I’m looking forward to joining the Maryland Democratic Party at their Fight Back and Win Gala next month,” said President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. “I’ve always believed that democracy isn’t a spectator sport, and the men and women of the Maryland Democratic Party are doing the work that matters. Knocking on doors, making phone calls, and putting in the time nobody sees but everyone benefits from. It’s going to be a special night, and I’m honored to spend it with the folks who are fighting to move Maryland — and this country — forward.”

Hundreds of Marylanders will convene at the Maryland Democratic Party’s inaugural Fight Back & Win Summit & Gala–bringing together Democratic elected officials, labor leaders, organizers, advocates, campaign professionals, volunteers, and voters from across the state to reflect on the work ahead and prepare for the critical 2026 midterm elections.

“It is truly an honor to welcome President Joe Biden back to a place where he has given so much,” said Democratic Party Chair Steuart Pittman. “Because of President Biden, nearly 250,000 Marylanders signed up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, $2.8 billion in private sector investment went into our state, and $3.6 billion in student debt cancellation was approved for nearly 57,000 Marylanders. Those results in Maryland don’t happen without President Biden, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him as our keynote speaker.”

The Fight Back & Win Summit & Gala was created in response to the urgency of the current political climate in Washington, bringing together Maryland Democrats to deepen coalition-building, prepare our candidates, and compete in areas all across the state as Democrats work to fight back and win in 2026!

“Alongside President Biden, we were able to deliver real results for real people across Maryland, and we are thrilled to welcome him back,” said Governor Wes Moore. “Under the Biden Administration, Maryland added over 158,500 new jobs with $2.8 billion in private sector investment across the state, a stark contrast from the direct assaults we’re seeing from the Trump Administration in Washington. From the rebuilding of the Francis Scott Key Bridge to the construction of the Frederick Douglass Tunnel, President Biden has delivered time and time again for the people of Maryland.”

President Biden’s career in public service spans more than five decades. A native of neighboring Pennsylvania and Delaware, Biden made history in 1972 when, at just 29 years old, he became one of the youngest individuals ever elected to the United States Senate and later became the first president from the State of Delaware.

Over 36 years in the Senate, eight years as Vice President of the United States, and four years as the nation’s 46th president, Biden helped shape major national conversations on economic opportunity, public safety, healthcare, infrastructure, and global leadership.

As president, Biden led the nation through recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, signed historic investments in infrastructure and domestic manufacturing, lowered prescription drug costs for seniors, strengthened economic opportunity for working families, and oversaw investments that continue to impact communities across the country, including here in Maryland.

From investments in transportation, clean energy, and broadband access to efforts to lower costs and expand economic opportunity, the Biden Administration’s policies helped support families, strengthen communities, and create pathways for long-term growth.

The Gala follows the Maryland Democratic Party’s first-ever Fight Back & Win Summit, a day-long statewide convening featuring strategic training sessions focused on advocacy, coalition-building, communications, digital engagement, fundraising, and preparing Democrats to compete and win in 2026.
