Hogan praises “good friend[s]” who want to ban abortion as “important voices for the Party”
The Maryland Democratic Party today released a new video highlighting Republican Larry Hogan praising his fellow anti-abortion rights Republicans including his “good friend[s]” Mitch McConnell, Ron DeSantis and Brian Kemp, and “great guy” Paul Ryan.
Hogan, who was personally recruited by McConnell to help Republicans take control of the Senate, could be the 51st seat Republicans need to push forward an extreme agenda, including a nationwide abortion ban. In the last month alone, Hogan and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) have jointly spent $1.6 million on ads to elevate Hogan and help Republicans take control of the U.S. Senate.
- Hogan on Mitch McConnell, who said a national abortion ban is “possible” without Roe: “I want to compliment my good friend, Mitch McConnell”
- Hogan on Ron DeSantis, architect of Florida’s extreme 6-week abortion ban: “The governor of Florida, we’re friends” and “he’s certainly one of the important voices for the party.”
- Hogan on Brian Kemp, architect of Georgia’s extreme 6-week abortion ban: “Brian Kemp is a good friend and somebody I admire.”
- Hogan on Paul Ryan, who’s said he’s “proud of [his] pro-life record:” “I’m a big fan of Paul Ryan. Paul is a great guy.”
