Four DNC Members – two males and two females– will be elected by the Democratic State Central Committee of Maryland at a meeting to be held on June 20, 2020. Each member elected must reside in a different one of the State Party’s seven regions as described below. The term of office begins on the day following the 2020 Democratic National Convention through the last day of the Democratic National Convention in 2024.  


  • Region 1: Western Maryland (Garrett, Allegany, Washington, Frederick, Carroll, & Howard Counties)
  • Region 2: Southern Maryland (St. Mary’s, Charles, Calvert, & Anne Arundel Counties)
  • Region 3: Eastern Shore (Cecil, Harford, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset, & Worcester Counties)
  • Region 4: Baltimore County
  • Region 5: Baltimore City
  • Region 6: Montgomery County
  • Region 7: Prince George’s County 

Maryland’s current elected DNC members are:

  • Greg Pecoraro (male from Western MD) – *NOT* RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION
  • Bel Leong-Hong (female from Montgomery County) – RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION
  • Glen Middleton (male from Baltimore City) – RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION
  • Cheryl Landis (female from Prince George’s County) – RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION

Description of the role: 

As a DNC member, you’ll have a number of responsibilities as you serve your four-year term. You’ll be asked to attend and represent Maryland at two national DNC meetings throughout the calendar year, in addition to serving as an automatic delegate to the convention. One meeting will be held in DC and the other in another city. You are solely responsible for your own expenses to attend these meetings, etc. As a DNC member, elected by the Democratic State Central Committee of Maryland, you’re given a seat on the Maryland Democratic Party’s Executive Committee. The Executive Committee meets six times a year and can include some special meetings when needed. The State Democratic Central Committee of Maryland meets at least twice a year.
